Happy New Year!!

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.” — ~ Neil Gaiman

Wishes..

Another year, another round of resolutions. Looking back at our mistakes, our wrongdoings , our failures, our joyful moments, our achievements, we learn and try to do better the coming year. Each year that passes by comes with its own lessons, whether we learn from them or not, it’s up to us, but this need for resolutions comes from wanting to become better, healthier, have a better life and a better understanding of the other.

So let’s share our wishes and resolutions for 2011! Here are some of mine, and waiting for you to share yours!

Ahh yes, new dreams…Dreams can become reality if we persevere long enough, if we don’t get discouraged or impatient along the way..What is life without dreams? A boring ,monotone meaningless life..So dream on my dears and let your new dreams take you to places you’ve never been!

I wish for peace on earth, i don’t know if that’s a dream, but as i said persevere! I wish for countries to open borders, i wish for the end of racism, i wish for happier people making better decisions, i wish for the end of hunger…..I wish to put an end to all wars, to keep our young people alive and healthy …

Gratitude, love, hope….We should always be grateful for what we have, we forget sometimes, while we are wishing for something else, that what we already have is something to be grateful for. Grateful for the moments we have, the health of our children, grateful for the possibilities we have , for the love offered to us…Love, love has the power to heal anything, love yourself, your children, your family, friends, neighbours..The more love you give, the more you get in return.

I hope i can read as many books as i can, on every subject out there, and share them with you!

I hope i could travel to faraway places and discover the beauty of each country from east to west, try new food, hear different languages, learn new traditions, and smell new scents..

I wish i can have a dinner in a magical place like this, with music in the background, laughter, happy chatter, lots of friends and family around to enjoy the mysteries of a moonlit dinner..

I wish to be always surrounded by the beauty and colors of nature, flowers make me happy and we should always have some around us for a brighter day!

I wish to celebrate more this coming year, every occasion should be a celebration in my book! Life is too short people, to wait for a reason , so come on, let’s celebrate!!

And at last , i wish you all serenity, prosperity, health, tranquility…..and lots of love,

xoxo

Happy Holidays

These days we are connected all over the globe, from east to west, north to south, so i just want to wish all of you Happy Holidays wherever you are, and plenty of joy and merry times with your loved ones, days spent with family, friends, full of food, laughter and joy…One last thought to all the orphans, the homeless, hungry and miserable children in this world that we can’t help, may they all find home and peace one day…and hopefully our own children will know how lucky they are to be living in a loving and safe family…

Merry Christmas to allllll!! xoxo

Electronic madness!

Children wait all year-long for xmas ; it’s the only time they can ask for that special gift they were longing for all those months..We aim to please, since we are parents, but when it comes to teenagers, they are very hard to satisfy (psp, cellphone, nintendo, ipod and so on). Why can’t they wish for better grades?! (yeah right!). Electronics have taken the place of regular toys, and kids are not excited with the train anymore!

I can see the difference between my 21-year-old and my 10-year-old: with an 11 year gap, the birth of a cyber generation! They play on the net, surf and browse better than you and me; when i get a new electrical device, i have to read the manual to understand the semantics (and that’s if i understand!), while they just click click click and voila! They are in business! So how do we expect them to enjoy playing blocks?!

When i tell my kids about the gifts i used to get at their age, they laugh and say “oh, but that was so longtime ago!”. Mmmm, well not THAT long time ago! Life has evolved so quickly these last 20 years, that for them, even the thought of a time without cellphones is incomprehensible..

I wish this generation read more books (real books), played more educational or board games, went outside and played more with nature’s gifts (twigs, mud, branches, stones..), then i realised that all this generation is “i” prone (iphone, ipad, ipod,i,i,i,!!), not only my teenagers, but all teenagers around the world! Their imagination is being fed by the net not by books.

Times have changed, and i think we have to evolve with it and stop comparing our youth with the youth of today…

Do you have kids that aren’t electronic mad? And what do your kids want for xmas this year?
