Why the butterflies?

“May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun

And find your shoulder to light on,

To bring you luck, happiness and riches

Today, tomorrow and beyond.”  Irish Blessing

The butterfly is a universal symbol of change, transformation, celebration, young love and the soul.

American indians call upon the butterfly for guidance in change, color, and happiness.

In Christianity, the butterfly is a symbol of rebirth and immortality.

Chinese legend has it that the butterfly symbolizes an undying bond between lovers.

Like the butterfly, our life is a journey. On this journey we encounter turns and bumps, closed and open doors that cause us to change. And that is what life is made of , and it is necessary to grow and learn _We walk the path in faith, accept the changes that come, and emerge from our transition as brilliantly as the butterfly_.

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”  Maya Angelou.

(And that’s why i chose the butterfly as my header).

  1. What a wonderful post. I am very drawn to butterflies. Perhaps due to the transformations made in my own life. I just love that Irish blessing too, I might print that up and frame it for my little girls’ room. Rachaelxx
